30 Day Drive: 31,000 Feet

Hello everybody. It’s me reaching you from way above the clouds where it is nice and sunny as my Bro and I make our way to Ottawa. Another early flight – 6:10 departure – many more of these things and I’m going to become a Bat!!

Very sorry that I have been so absent over the past week, but I am happy to report that my lifeline (computer) is back in my possession and will a little luck we will not be separated again.

The past couple of days were a little challenging for me I must admit, as it seemed the little things in life were constantly working against me, testing my commitment to the Positive perspective. No major struggles just what seemed like a bunch of small things that never worked out as I figured they would. Last night was the usual last minute stretch to pull it all together, which happened with relative ease thanks to much help at 6 Banff Place.

So here I am, off on the next leg of my Journey which I’m calling “The 30 Day Drive”. The name is representative of the next major destination on this road, our goal now is to get me prepared – code for kicking my ass – then get my Dad’s stem cells in me and working to make new healthy blood. As most of you know, we are focused on “one day at a time”, and it was great to hear my Doc say those exact words last week when I was in Ottawa to meet with him. He is concentrating on one obstacle at a time, and he said “this is our approach, and we will re-evaluate every day”. Those words alone were enough to bring me that inner calm and peace that I had been searching for during the previous 10 days as I worked through my treatment decision.

I obviously have my computer with me, as well as my camera, so you can expect many more pictures from my new surroundings as well as the treatment process. My thoughts and feelings at this time are sound, I feel complete calm inside and am ready to start my 30 Day Drive, warm-up will begin tomorrow morning as I start 4 days of chemo, which will be followed by 2 days of high dose chemo.

I’ll hopefully be getting settled today and will give you the update once we find a place to temporarily call home. For those of you who have written over the past week, great to hear from you as always. Have a great day and I’ll be back soon.

Always…
Live Life. Love Life.

Geoff
