30 Day Drive: Sleepless, and Trouble Sleeping

Hey everyone, a quick note on this holiday Monday night. I’ve just arrived home several hours ago from my first night in an Ottawa Hospital, as last night I was throwing up pretty much everything I was taking in, thus the “drinking and peeing” that I was supposed to be doing was complicated. So as a pre-caution I was admitted to hospital late last night, where received IV fluids and spent the night peeing about every hour, not much sleep as a result.

Then this morning I received my second and final dose of “Mo”, the high dose stuff, and after more fluids I was discharged around 5 p.m. I’ve managed to stay out of hospital for the night so far, and hopefully we will be able to maintain this state for the night, as I drink and pee for the next 24 hours roughly.

Funny side-affect, outside of the blinding headaches I had last night, is that for some reason tonight I’m having a lot of trouble with my eyes. Everything seems very fuzzy, and blurred, especially when I do have my glasses on. And even when I do this computer screen is tough to see, thus you’ll have to excuse any major spelling mistakes – the minor ones you are no doubt used to by now.

While I haven’t slept very much in the past couple of days, and will not get much sleep tonight I am feeling a far site better than last night at this time, and am looking forward to moving through this period of taking extra special care of my bladder. Hopefully I’ll be able to get a solid night’s sleep before Transplant day on Wednesday.

My Dad starts his donating tomorrow morning, and as he left tonight I asked him to “give me some of the good stuff”. Positive energy his way tonight and tomorrow. Hope you had a great weekend, and I’ll be back soon.

Always…
Live Life. Love Life.

Geoff
