Summer, 2002: 38, 40, 700

The 38 stands for the rough normal number of a particular liver function of mine that gets monitored each time I give blood, as do a whole bunch of liver functions and other parts of my blood. I have Graft vs. Host Disease (GVH) in my liver thus my liver functions have been a little elevated and we monitor them every time I go the hospital to have a blood test and see my Doc. The 40 stands for that same function of mine on my last blood test, which was about 6 weeks ago. A little elevated, as I said, but it had been coming down slowly but surely. And the 700 stands for that same function on this morning’s blood test.

Wonder why I feel like I have a pipe in my lung? Not so much anymore.

As my flu continues to depart, my side is still quite tender and now I have a pretty good idea why that is. We are going to continue the exploration tomorrow morning with blood work and some more Doc appointments, and see if we can’t find out what’s happening inside me. The early thoughts are that I have a viral infection, that has either settled in my liver or is obviously affecting how things are running. The Doc doesn’t think that GVH is responsible for the hike, but we’ll hopefully learn more tomorrow with some further testing.

Other than that I’m feeling pretty well, still laying low and recharging my batteries, which is needed.

As I learn more about what’s happening inside me you can count on me sharing it, and please do remember that no news is good news. Back soon.

Always…
Live Life. Love Life.
