Big Cancer Hook-up special guest: Jamie Carswell

February 6, 2015

Jamie Carswell | Red Deer, AB
Diagnosed with Stage III invasive ductal carcinoma at 23

Jamie Carswell headshotJamie is an RCMP CST with a passion for boxing, camping, quadding, travelling, being a super mom, playing with her dog, music, soulful conversation, tight hugs, cooking, comfortable silence, party planning, and anything else that gets her heart racing.

She says the major challenges she faced as a young adult with cancer are dealing with the stigma that goes along with being a “survivor,” and the inability to make other people feel better about her diagnosis.

Jamie is currently in chemically-induced menopause.

Attended: Retreat Yourself 2008 and 2009, Survivor Conference 2008 and 2010, Big Cancer Hook-up 2014
