How it Started

In August of 1999, Young Adult Cancer Canada (YACC) founder and Executive Director, Geoff Eaton, was in ICU and given a less than 2% chance of living. The following month, Geoff walked for the first time after being released from ICU.

Every year since, Geoff, along with a group of Young Adult Cancer Canada supporters, have tackled Signal Hill in St. John’s, NL, and hills all over the world to honour the memory of loved ones touched by cancer, represent friends and family currently facing cancer challenges and to support YACC’s mission to support young adults dealing with cancer.  The Climb is symbolic of the “never give up spirit” that is core to YACC’s initiatives.
