This international talent competition will feature young adult cancer survivors at any stage of their cancer journey between the ages of 17-40 in vocal, instrumental, and dance categories, with winners in all three categories.

Comic Daniel Stolfi was 25 when diagnosed with cancer. He’s bringing his show about the ordeal to Café Campus
...â€Last summer, Stolfi attended a retreat in the Laurentians hosted by the Young Adult Cancer Canada organization and performed an excerpt from the show.
“That was the ultimate audience because they were all survivors and people still in treatment,” Stolfi said. “I didn’t want to offend, but people came up to me after and said it was like I had taken the words right out of their mouths. Nurses who saw it said they understood more about what they see their patients go through and that all health professionals should see it.”…

“I remember that she wore red shoes. Her feet were tiny and she was wearing pantyhose. She examined the lump on my neck for all of 20 seconds before leaning back in her swivel chair and pronouncing: “This is probably a lymphoma.”
At some point in that meeting she prescribed me antidepressants, and I think we scheduled a biopsy, but what I mostly remember are her shoes. I stared at them while she talked to me about treatment options and mentioned that pop Christian book, The Shack. She said I was lucky. She said, “You are going to learn some important lessons early that some people never learn.” I nodded and pretended I knew what she was talking about.â€

Posted on Jan 12, 2010 - 11:03 AM by LesleyAn incredibly talented young adult cancer survivor, Daniel Stolfi (you can check out his bio and website at www.cancercantdancelikethis.com will be coming to Montreal with his show called “CANCER CAN’T DANCE LIKE THIS.” Those of us fortunate enough to be at RetreatYourself - East this past summer had the privilege of seeing a little snippet of this show, and it is hilarious!!! It’s a one-man comedy show with a little Michael Jackson, improve, singing, dancing, and cancer, YES, CANCER! It’s all wrapped up into an energetic, “laugh-your-socks-off” performance that is sure to entertain.
It’s going to take place at on SUNDAY JANUARY 24 at Le PETIT CAMPUS.
Doors open at 7:00 pm, Show starts at 8:00pm.
