Hey NL! Have you heard of Nurse Navigators?

Eastern Health has appointed seven Nurse Navigators around the province to help guide you through your cancer experience. They are spread out throughout Newfoundland and Labrador with stations in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, St. Anthony, Corner Brook, Gander, Clarenville, and St. John's.

These nurses are like oncology superheroes. They understand that people often feel stressed, afraid, and curious when they receive a cancer diagnosis. They will help answer your questions and help you find your way through the complex healthcare system.

In an information sheet they said, "Specially trained oncology nurses act as compassionate, effective guides offering proactive, practical help to bridge gaps and assist patients, families, and caregivers negotiate the maze of treatments, services, and challenges encountered on their cancer journey."

What they do

How you can find them

Ask your family doctor about connecting with a Nurse Navigator in your area, or call their toll-free number: 1-855-848-3888.
