Day 13 – It’s my number!

Good morning! I hope you’re great and are tackling the day. I had a pretty good weekend, of course my condition dropped within hours of writing my last message to you all. That’s what I get for acting so cocky and portraying an image of wellness as opposed to an image of healing. I am not ‘well’ but I am definitely healing. I think it’s important to draw that distinction.

The number 13: Of course as most of you know my birthday is on the 13th, and this past year it was on Friday the 13th (during the real Game 1 it was). Now ordinarily Friday the 13th has always been good to me but last year I had a little bad luck on November Friday the 13th, as it represented Day 2 of the first Game. Of course the second time 13 played a major role was 13 days ago, as I had my transplant on April 13th. Of course that means today is Day 13, and while nothing special has happened as yet it is only 9:40 a.m., so I’ll wait and see.

Anyway no big news other than I have FINISHED chemo, no more soup for me!! I’ve had my last blast and it went fairly well, didn’t feel the affects until yesterday as my mouth got a little more sore. The Doc’s tell me that things should start to heal in the next day or so and that a healing mouth is usually a sign that the white cells are starting to move.

Apparently this often happens quite quickly, mouth then white cells. We’ll wait and see. So you know, my white cells are currently nothing, but we should hopefully see some movement in the next week. I’ll get you posted.

That’s all from here, just a little update today. Keep on Keepin’ on,
Geoff
