Day 44 – Medical Update, While Activity Increases

Good morning everyone, sorry for the delay in writing but I have been attempting to keep relatively active over the past few days. Although I’m suffering from a lack of sleep I have a little “cabin” fever so I have been trying to get out of the apartment once or twice a day. Last clinic visit went well, my rash is clearing up well and all other things appear to be progressing well. Of course there are no certainties at this point, outside of the fact that I feel pretty well right now, and I am enjoying it. My risk of infection is normal, which means very high, still no big crowds or risky behavior. Good thing there are no High School Hockey games for me to attend up here as I would most definitely be shot for an “suspension” incurred a couple of weeks post-Transplant.

For now I’m progressing well, asked my Doctor about potential departing dates, as I am starting to miss home more and more daily. But he was VERY non-committal, as I expected, as I have only been out of isolation for 13 days and I really need to develop a track record as an outpatient. That said my three return trips to the hospital have gone very well, my most recent trip was the shortest yet as I was out by lunch time, which is a huge exception this close to Transplant. I am extremely fortunate not to require blood and blood product transfusions upon each return as most of my peers do, the transfusion processes are what makes clinic visits an all day excursion, which I am more than happy to avoid.

That’s all for now, have a good one.
Take care,

Geoff
