Eastern Health offers transition program for cancer survivors

Young adult cancer survivors in and around St. John’s, NL may be interested in this program starting November 20:
Eastern Health’s Social Work Department at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre is offering a free seven-week program for cancer survivors who have been finished treatment from six weeks to two years. The program, titled Cancer Transitions, Moving Beyond Treatment, is designed to provide cancer survivors with support and education about exercise, nutrition, emotional health, well-being and medical management that will help them as they continue on their path to wellness.
The program will start November 20, and run on Wednesdays from 2-4:30 p.m. for seven weeks at The Works (17 Westerland Road) in St. John’s. Sessions will include 30 minutes of exercise, followed by two hours of group discussion, education, and support.
