First Descents Expands 2010 Camps

Rapid, The Whitewater Magazine
First Descents, a non-profit organization founded by pro kayaker Brad Ludden, is expanding its free, summer kayaking and climbing camps for young adults with cancer.
Since Ludden ran the first First Descents camp 10 years ago to address the emotional, psychological and physical healing of young adults (age 18-39) with cancer, the program has grown in leaps and bounds. This year, 15 weeklong First Descents adventure therapy camps will be run out of the organization’s Colorado base and three other western states, including 10 kayaking-focused and five climbing/mountaineering camps.
