Get rewarded in artwork to hang out at YACC! (St. John’s)September 25, 2012
Do you like free art? Are you up for volunteering with a great charity? Young Adult Cancer Canada (YACC) has been selected to be a beneficiary of St. John’s first Timeraiser, a unique silent auction where attendees bid on local artwork with volunteer hours instead of cash.
The organizers say they are aiming to raise a total of 4,000 volunteer hours for the 20 selected St. John’s charities.
Where: Dusk UltraLounge (George Street)
Date: October 4, 2012
Time: Doors open at 7 p.m.
Early bird tickets are $10 until September 29; regular price tickets will be $20.
The Timeraiser is part volunteer fair, part silent art auction and part night on the town. Throughout the evening meet with different agencies and match your skills to their needs. Once you have made your matches, you are eligible to bid on artwork. The big twist is rather than bid money, you bid volunteer hours. If you have the winning bid you have 12 months to complete your pledge before bringing the artwork home as a reminder of your goodwill.
