Getting ready to Rumble in Red Deer

The Red Deer Boxing Club is hosting another Rumble in Red Deer in support of the club and Young Adult Cancer Canada. “Fighting for the Survivors” will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at the Capri Hotel & Convention Centre, Red Deer, AB.
Steve Boissoin, the event organizer, says, “The Rumble is a boxing event like no other and over the last two years it has proven to be the most well attended boxing event in Alberta. Upwards of 2000 people have attended this high class dinner card each year.
“This year, the Rumble is going Pro/Am. As planned we are bringing professional boxing into Red Deer for this our third Rumble event. The number of amateur fights will be reduced so as to showcase four professional boxing bouts from heavyweight right up to the high-end main event which will feature the current NABA Super Featherweight Champion—10-0 knockout specialist, Arash Usmanee.  Arash has been fighting across Canada and the United States, and is coming back to Red Deer to briefly reconnect with his Red Deer roots.
“It was right out of the Red Deer Boxing Club that he became a five time National Champion. Arash is known for his attacking boxer-puncher style and is constantly trying to knock-out his opponents. In addition, another big puncher, light-welterweight Rory Coveney, currently 4-0 with two KOs, will be fighting in the co-main event. In fact, all of the Rumble fights this year, whether amateur or professional, are being set-up to showcase boxer-punchers. The 2011 Rumble will also feature Amateur and White Collar Boxing.”
They are also hoping to have a few other special attractions at the event, so get your tickets to join in on the fun!
Tickets range from $125 for a single ticket in the third row to $1,500 for a “Gold” front row sponsor table for eight people.
