Good Days and Bad Days

Hey there everyone, writing today as I’m feeling fairly well today, after having a pretty tough day yesterday. That is the nature of my situation, up and down, but as time passes there are more ‘up’ days than ‘down’. I’m starting to get some fine motor control back so I’ll be able to write more frequently. I’m not sure how much of you all know about my past 6-7 weeks but I will do my best to give you the complete update as I learn it. Since waking up I have been learning all about the events that took place during late July and August, as I can’t remember anything, with the exception of my original trip into the hospital. I went to emergency at 4:30 a.m. on a Saturday night after waking up rygering, I spent several extremely painful hours in emergency. The Nurses were nice as usual but did very little to help my pain and I experienced potentially the worst pain I have faced since being diagnosed. Anyway I don’t remember most of the day, Sunday that is but apparently I went to the ICU later that day, after spending all day, about 12 hours, in emergency. That is really where my memory stops, it was July 25th. I woke from my drug induced coma on August 23rd and have a spotty memory of the following weeks, but as the days go by my memory regarding those weeks slowly comes back although I don’t expect to fully remember the events of my “waking” and last few days in ICU. This may be unclear to many of you but once I have all the events straight I will bring you all up to speed.

So after 41 days in hospital I came home on Friday September 3rd. When I left the hospital I was dead weight, my strength was next to nothing. In the past 10 days my strength has come along way and I can walk with my walker, which is far ahead of the projection from my Phsyio. Each day I get stronger and I hope to be walking within the next week. Aim high!!

I was glad to hear back from those of you who wrote and feel free to write when you wish, I check my mail a couple of times a day and will respond when I can. Hope everything is going well with you.

Rebuilding,

Geoff
