YACC to the Future

Thank you for your interest in helping us take YACC to the next level! Unfortunately, this survey closed on April 16, 2014. Please contact us at [email protected] if you would like to get involved or offer any feedback!
Young Adult Cancer Canada (YACC) was established in 2000 with an initial focus on school presentations and building an online support community for young adults dealing with cancer. We’ll call this the start-up phase–aka YACC 1.0–where we really explored, solidified and began implementing our mission. Major milestones included building Canada’s first web community for young adults dealing with cancer (2004), hosting the first Retreat Yourself event (2005) and pushing annual revenue over $200,000.
In 2007, YACC entered a new phase of growth–YACC 2.0.  Increased financial resources, maturing operations, evolving governance and dramatically expended program reach were the themes of YACC 2.0. New programs were developed and delivered across the country, our office team grew in number and we professionally enhanced our expertise across operational areas. Our network of young adults boomed and the health professionals who help us connect with them became more engaged and more of them became engaged. The Shave for the Brave was the fuel that drove this growth, representing 70 per cent of our annual budget, now $1 Million/year!
Now, in 2014, we are again taking it to the next level (aka YACC 3.0). As we prepare for this step we want to hear from you. How do you see YACC? What have we been doing well, and what could we improve? What are we missing or doing too much of?
Thanks for your help!
