Let’s see what comes out

Once again it’s been a while since I have written and as always there is good reason. My energy has been pretty low and I haven’t been feeling the best for quite some time now, although the past few days have seen some improvement in my status, despite no sleep.

Did you know that it has been over 2 months since I woke from my August sleep, and about 8 weeks since I left the hospital? Upon my waking the Dr’s said they figured I would be on the floor, 4 North A, for approximately 6-8 weeks, which would have put me getting home sometime within the last week or so. I actually left 8 days after leaving the ICU, and I can safely say that had I spent those weeks in the hospital my mental state would have suffered a serious blow and the positive, upbeat patient you have all come to know, would have been no more.

As my subject suggests I don’t have any real design for this message except to provide bits and pieces of knowledge that may or may not be of interest. As I think about it the only real news I have to pass along is that I have indeed suffered another “setback” as my muscles, both abdominal and back, have really been causing me discomfort in the past several weeks. Last week after a visit with my GP I discovered that it is most definitely related to my rapid drop in Prednisone, and will probably continue for the next several weeks and my decline continues.

As for all other things, they are pretty well. Dr. Scully has ordered me to consider myself 100% debilitated (spelling) and conduct my recovery accordingly, i.e. take my time. As you may know, I’ve never been very good at taking my time with anything so that is my immediate challenge.

That’s all for now,

Geoff
