Localife

Localife is an activity-based group where young adult cancer survivors enjoy fun activities and connect with their survivor peers.

Vision

Young adult cancer survivors and their supporters will feel a genuine sense of belonging in a supportive community and will no longer name isolation as the number one challenge they face in their cancer journeys.

Mission

To provide regular opportunities for young adult cancer survivors and supporters to come together to enjoy fun activities and the benefits of peer support.

We are currently piloting the program in Calgary but are planning on expanding to Edmonton, Toronto, and Ottawa in the summer of 2012. Stay tuned for more info!

Movie night @ Wellspring Carma House (1404 Home Rd. NW)
Friday, March 9, 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Come out and meet Katy, our new Western Program Coordinator, and watch a movie with young adult survivors from the Calgary area! There is no cost for the event and light refreshments will be provided. Please RSVP by March 7 to shali@youngadultcancer.ca if you plan on attending.

Red Deer Shave for the Brave @ Parkland Mall
Saturday, April 14, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
If you're in Red Deer, come volunteer and hang out with us for a couple of hours as we Shave heads and raise money to support YACC.

Calgary Shave for the Brave @ Deerfoot Mall
Saturday, April 21, 1 to 3 p.m.
If you're in Calgary, come volunteer and hang out with us for a couple of hours as we Shave heads and raise money to support YACC.

Dinner with Karine, YACC's Program Director (Time and place TBD)
Tuesday, May 1
Karine will be in Calgary to prepare for Retreat Yourself West and would love to meet up with survivors from the Calgary area for dinner. As this is an informal activity, you will be responsible for the cost of your meal.
