Localife Edmonton: Another event, another snowstorm!March 16, 2013
Our January Localife event was met with a blizzard, and it appears no Localife event would be complete without a snowstorm. Edmonton Localife attendees braved the weather, donned their best winter parkas and dusted off their snow boots for another epic event of yoga and eats at Brewsters on March 16.
The afternoon started with an hour of yoga at Edmonton’s Yoga Den. We did the downward dog, sun salutations, and challenged our physical and mental limitations. Upon being instructed to lie on our backs with our feet behind our ears, Dan’s reply was “you’ve got to be kidding me!” However, it was amazing to see that we could move our bodies in was we did not think were possible! We also learned that the common salutation is a common greeting in India, meaning the light in me recognizes the light in you. Who knew it had such a profound meaning?
After an hour of yoga, we felt refreshed and rejuvenated. With it being St. Patrick’s Day weekend, we changed into our green gear and headed over to Brewster’s to grab some food since we were famished from yoga (humbling, since we did not feel like we worked up much of an appetite at the time!). We were joined by some more Localife friends, and enjoyed some good food, great company and were able to chat and enjoy the evening.
The snow may have put a damper on the weather this time, but it sure didn’t damper the fun!
Stay tuned for our upcoming spring events!
Look forward to seeing you then,
Dan and Ash
