Localife Ottawa: Winterlude

image
It was a picturesque day in Ottawa. The sun was shining, the sky was clear, and people filled the streets. Many were humming towards the Rideau Canal to take advantage of the ice-skating and Winterlude festivities.
There were eight of us who ventured onto the canal that day for our scheduled Localife activity. Many of us were novice, at best. I’m pretty sure I heard, “I haven’t skated in so many years!” Yup, that was the general consensus, but we gave it a try and did our best.
After several hours of skating, navigating through the hundreds of people, and taking little breaks, we treated the team to beavertails and hot chocolate. It was the delicious reward after skating to our heart’s content. But, we were still hungry! Cold weather and skating demanded food! So we went to a local pub and ordered some appetizers to fill our bellies. We laughed, recounted the day, and talked about our next event. Eventually the cold and physical exhaustion set in and we parted ways.
Another amazing Localife event in sunny, cold Ottawa.
