Localife Toronto: As food feeds the hunger, laughter feeds the soul

IMG_0965

Localife Toronto started with an old favourite, but a new twist!
The response was so supportive for our interactive cooking session with ELLICSR’s Geremy Capone last year, we had to make sure to plan another one!
Localifers had a chance to eat and laugh the night away with guidance from registered dietician Christy Brissette and improv from Spoonful of Laughter‘s Rob Hawke on September 26, 2014.
The first part of the night was an interactive cooking portion (the grumbling bellies were happy), and we followed our with activities of “eyes closed” instinct counting, Zulu improv, belly laughter, and a bevy of surprises!
Our main dishes were tasty creations that were familiar to those who attended Geremy and Christy’s session at Survivor Conference 2014 in Toronto as we used baking parchment to bake Arctic char garnished with any variety of veggies, sauces, and delights.
The final activity was a desert challenge judged by your two Localife leaders and Geremy himself. Adding mystery elements of horned melon and mouse melon, the “Dream Team” and the “Team Tasty” used their new-found skills to compete to the end as they came up with their final creations: “melon obsession” and “dragon’s egg”!
In the end, the winning team triumphed by a tiny factor, but everyone left as winners with full bellies and a wealth of new knowledge.
Huge thanks to Geremy Capone, Rob Hawke, Christy Brissette and ELLICSR for all their great support! (Want to learn more about ELLICSR? Check out their YouTube channel!)
See you in November Toronto Localifers!
