Localife Toronto: Bonnie's BBQ recap

Peter and I were very excited about hosting our first Localife event on August 2. We had 24 people in all–YACC alumni, survivors who had recently attended their first retreat, newcomers, and even some out-of-towners.The food arrived, everyone got acquainted, and the BBQ was definitely a happening place! The food was great; hats off goes to our chef, Adolfo, for cooking it all!

The night was a little windy and we thought we felt some raindrops but the weather held out for us and everyone enjoyed the BBQ outside on the rooftop. As the sun started to disappear, we headed to the party room where we took out the thumbball and threw it around to get to know more about each individual (perhaps too much in some cases).
It was amazing to watch all these new people getting to know each other. There was much laughter, story sharing, scar revealing, fruitee fizz, eclectic music, and talk about the next event! I think all the smiling faces meant it was a success!
This was a great experience for everyone involved and a great learning experience for the leaders.  We are already talking about our next Localife event and it is definitely one you do not want to miss!
Until next time!
-Bonnie
