If you never been to Spirits Bar and Grill, you have to check it out on Wednesday nights for their comedy show. They have a huge line up of comedians–some good, some better. I laughed so hard at our March 19, 2014 Localife Toronto event that my cheeks felt like they would stay in the laughing position forever.
With 28 people, we had our biggest turnout since Localife Toronto’s inception. I am pretty sure we packed half of the venue. With such a big group, and several new people attending, we had to think of a new ice breaker game since our old routine would have taken too long, and we didn’t have much time before the show started if we introduced everyone individually in a circle, so we played “People Bingo.” It was a hit!
The questions were based on cancer and personal questions and everyone had to go finding someone that can fill a square on their bingo cards. As a leader, it was really fulfilling to watch everyone mingle and ask questions. Knowing that people were getting the chance to meet other peer cancer survivors and finding out what cancer someone had or if they had a scar or tattoo to cover the scar was a great way to start out the night.
I hope everyone had a great night laughing their cancer off! I know I did.
