Late afternoon on Sunday, April 10, Localifers came together for a round-robin tournament at SPiN in Toronto. As members started to arrive, people started mingling amongst themselves and rallying some ping pongs around. We started out with an ice breaker game by throwing around a ping pong ball to introduce ourselves to the newbies and unfamiliar faces.
Then, with less than an hour remaining of our booked venue, we paired up on a two-on-two play with winners playing winners, losers player losers, and winners playing losers in a make-up-your-own-rule 10-point rally games! If you weren’t playing, you’d been catching up with old and new friends about their cancer experiences. Everyone had a great time chasing after their ping pong balls (ok, well maybe that wasn’t the fun part), knocking people in the head instead of the table, and at the end of the day, we were all winners!
We had great food, excellent company, and lots of fun — what can’t be winning about that? Thanks to all who came out for some ping pong fun, and if you missed us this time around, hope to see you at the next event!
