Organization
It is Young Adult Cancer Canada's goal to have Localife groups up and running in six major cities across Canada by the end of 2011 with many smaller cities and towns to follow. Basically, we want to have Localife everywhere there are young adults who feel isolated and want to connect with their peers.
This totally depends on the city and the level of involvement of the local survivors and Localife coordinators. It can be as many as two every month to a minimum of four per year. What ever the amount of events, Young Adult Cancer Canada will do its best to support the survivors and give them the tools to make every event a whole lot of fun and time of connection.
Young Adult Cancer Canada has a group of passionate young adult survivors who have been involved for many years with Young Adult Cancer Canada programs and are trained specifically to lead and organize Localife events. If you are a young adult survivor, have good organizational and communication skills, and love to get groups of people together to have fun, you could be the next Localife Coordinator! Come to the next Survivor Conference or contact Young Adult Cancer Canada directly to find out more.
What ever the survivors want to do! We have a curriculum of a few events that we know will be fun and successful but we want the Localife coordinators to try new things and do what they are passionate about. We are open to suggestions and ideas.
