Over a week

Hello all. I think this may very well be my longest absence since beginning to write. Did you miss me? Not a whole lot to report, I have been at the hospital every day, except today, for blood level checks and the like. No inconveniences due to the strike, to be honest the process has never been so efficient. I am usually in and out within 10-15 minutes since the Nurses have walked.

As of yesterday my levels are = hemoglobin – 86, platelets – 15, white cells – 1.6, Nutrophils – 0.6, which is very similar to the past two games as today is day 34. My white count has been up and down this week, which it hasn’t done in the past but nothing to worry about as the further I get into treatment the longer it takes for my counts to come back. It’s the cumulative affect of the chemo which I talked about before, “Learning to Live with Less”, simply the more I have the tougher it is on my body.

I leave for Toronto one week from today for the transplant, but will be heading up tomorrow for 36 hours to have my pre-transplant physical and assessment. This consists of lung tests, dental assessment, a bone marrow test, lots of blood work, etc. My day starts at 7:45 and finishes around 5:00, and from there I catch a flight at 8:45.

Thank you everyone who has responded to my ‘question’ email, those of you who haven’t can do so at anytime should you feel compelled.

Take care,
Geoff
