Who can attend?
Retreat Yourself weekends are for Young Adult Patients/Survivors and their Supporter who have never been to a YACC Retreat Yourself weekend before.
-
Patients/Survivors: Must have had a cancer diagnosis of any type or any stage between the ages of 18 and 35-ish and you must currently be between the ages of 18 and 35. (If this isn't you, fire us an email anyway, we are known to bend the rules on occasion);
-
Supporters: A friend, sibling, spouse, or partner, also aged between 18 and 35. Parents are not eligable. While boyfriends, girlfriends, and significant others are definitely welcome, the bunking is not co-ed.
When choosing your Supporter, ask yourself, "Would I be comfortable discussing every part of my cancer experience in front of them?" and "Would knowing the details of my cancer journey help them understand me better." If the answer is yes, you and your Supporter will probably get more out of the experience and enjoy the Retreat to the fullest.
If you prefer to come on your own or if your Supporter can't make the dates, don't let this stop you; many people come solo as well!
-
All participants must be able to attend the entire weekend.
