Organization
No matter if you’re a new or returning delegate, we know the program is going to inspire you to make the rest of your life the best of your life, motivate you to move beyond your cancer, and introduce you to a lot of other people who “get it.”
Help us help you

The Climb is an annual event held as part of the Survivor Conference and it’s your way to help cover the costs of your travel or another survivor who might not have the cash to attend the conference.
As you know, the cost of the hotel rooms, food, and activities during the Conference is already covered and you need to pay your travel costs. While travel to Ottawa is fairly reasonable from most places in Canada, we want to make sure we do everything we can to help ease the financial burden, for you and your fellow Survivors attending the conference. After all, the Conference should be about easing your mind, not causing you to worry about money!
We have a travel fund that helps support those who need it, the Climb can complement your travel assistance and/or help give that benefit to someone else.
Some of you may be familiar with the Climb we hold at Signal Hill in St. John’s. For the past two years it has been a powerful and inspiring part of the Survivor Conference; this fundraising event was created back in 2000 to mark Geoff’s personal milestone of walking again after a month in a coma in ICU. Since we’re going to Ottawa, we’re going to make it a Climb on Parliament Hill.
You can sign up and create a fundraising page to provide a way for your friends and family to support you coming to the Conference to improve your life and participate in a community of your cancer peers. Last year’s Climb in St. John’s raised $10,000 which helped us get 44 people to the eastern most point in Canada!
Please contact Karine at karine@youngadultcancer.ca or 1 (877) 571-7325 if you have any questions, and have a look at our website for more information.
Note: All donations over $10.00 will receive an official tax receipt.
