Walking Again, Slowly

I’m back on my feet. It took a little while but each day I walk a little further without the aid of my walker, which I never liked to use. My balance isn’t very solid yet but I can move around on my own a little which is good progress. At least that’s what I keep telling myself. I’ve made two trips to the hospital since leaving and they have been quite easy and I’ve had a few trips up the stairs with help from my Dad.

My blood levels are fine, my Magnesium is a little low but not dangerously. The biggest news to report is that I have stopped taking my Cyclosporine, which was suppressing my immune system. This is a big step on the road to being drug free, which is something I am really looking forward to.

As for my mental state, I am battling with my patience but am managing to maintain control. I’m really looking forward resuming some form of regular activity and the delay is quite frustrating, but as I’ve said all along patience is key. It’s probably the most important element of my strategy right now, and really has been a major factor throughout the past 10 months.

My thought processes are starting to return and I am beginning to think about my next several months. But it is still one day at a time for me and it will be that way for the next while. My email was out of commission for the past several days but is working fine now, so write if you wish.

Stay tuned,

Geoff
