Where have I been??

Right here, where have you all been? Actually I have been keeping busy, which is still a luxury for me. The thrill of being able to do most anything that crosses my mind hasn’t worn off, I am speaking fairly strictly of my “to do” list, although I’m not nearly as limited as I once was, which I’m sure you can imagine.

The two priorities from my “to do” list that have and will occupy my time are writing my book and establishing RealTime Cancer. The latter has been my focus for the past while, and it is progressing very well. I have begun the process of establishing RealTime as a charitable organization, which I’m told will take at least a couple of months. And the best part is I have begun to organize the first RealTime event, which will be a golf tournament in June – Leukemia Month. You’ll get more details about that later but if anyone is interested please write and let me know, and I’ll give you the full details. Things are coming together nicely and will ideally take shape in the next couple of weeks.

With respect to the book, I have taken a break from that for a while as I really feel I need to learn a lot more about the whole process before I continue putting effort into it. It seems to make sense to me that there are four steps, writing, editing, publishing, and distributing, but that is a guess and how they fit together is unknown to me. However I am keen to find out and will certainly make some solid strides in that department over the next little while.

On the health front, which is why I began writing but seems to occupy less and less of my messages, I am feeling fine. Still on the Prednisone, 5mg/day, and the other drugs but they aren’t causing any real side-affects. I have been sleeping like a baby, one that sleeps that is, and my stomach has been perfect for the past 10 days or so. Which wasn’t always the case as I have continued to have trouble with a variety of foods, nothing major but an inconvenience to say the least. I have continued to workout and my strength is increasing slowly but surely. A true sign of that is the fact that I was on my rollerblades yesterday for the first time in about 20 months. It was a great day and I had a 10 minute ride, which was more than enough for the legs. Not quite ready for Signal Hill yet, but you have to start some where!!

Back to you imagining, I would like to remind you all of my upcoming Transplant Party, which will be on Thursday, April 13th, from 6:30-9:30 at my Dad’s house on Banff Place. As good a chance as any to see me for real, instead of in this virtual world where you have to take my word as to how I’m doing, now you can come see for yourself. Don’t get me wrong I do love and enjoy our virtual relationship but it isn’t quite like the real experience. I would really love to see everyone, at least those who are living in the Province, even if it’s just for a minute or two. If you decide to come please write me a quick note as I would like to get an idea of how many people to expect.

That’s pretty much everything from my end, hope things are great with you. Touch base as you wish, and I’ll be back soon.

Live life. Love life.
