Localife Toronto: A day in the park

Although intimidating at the port with long line ups, Toronto Localifers got on the ferry to Toronto Island for a casual Picnic Potluck.
The weather could not had been more perfect–there wasn’t a cloud in the sky and we snagged a shoreline-view set of picnic tables where we all got to sample a variety of foods brought for the day from Bonnie’s amazing chickpea salad, to hot burritos, and sweet treats brought by survivors/supporters. There was a very tasty spread to choose from.
Loaded up on good eats, we took to socializing, or just flat out playing with paddle tennis and a frisbee. Though the good arm tosses were fun with the paddle tennis, the highlight was Bonnie’s “Xena” moment where she caught a frisbee toss that ricochet off a tree (It only could have been better with an opening gymnastics sequence).
As a closing event to the first year for Localife Toronto, we would like to thank all of our new Localife family for the experiences so far, and look forward to even more fun in year two!
Sincerely,
Bonnie and Peter
