Five tips for a kick-ass Climb

Facepaint

There are just three necessary actions to hold a Climb: find something to climb, raise money, climb it.

If that’s all you have planned, you already get a huge high five. However, if you feel like taking it a couple of steps, here are five ways you can kick it up!

1. Face paint

Always a crowd-pleaser! Bonus points if you use yellow, blue, and white to match our logo! (We want to see pictures of this.)

2. Food

Rent a barbecue, get sandwiches donated from a local deli, or ask a coffee shop for some java and donuts for the end of the event.

3. Costumes/team outfits

Rainbow tutus, blue and yellow shoelaces, fairy wings, wigs, full-body spandex, matching outfits, the unmistakable style of your favourite fitness gurus — whatever you like! A little extra spirit goes a long way when you start feeling that uphill burn. (See #1)

4. Photo ops

There’s bound to be a few built in with all that face paint and attire, but consider having a photo wall, a few props, or at least a designated group photo moment at the end because pics or it didn’t happen.

5. Speeches

It’s always great to have a few words from the event organizer, any YACCers in the crowd, dignitaries, etc. The schedule is up to you, but taking a few minutes to thank everyone for their support sprinkles on just the right amount of warm fuzziness on what is already bound to be an unforgettable day.
