THIRD PARTY EVENTS
Do you have an idea for a cool fundraiser to hold on YACC’s behalf? We will be happy to work with you to make it as successful as possible. Third party events can be anything from bake sales, to memorial walks, to fitness challenges!
What is a third party event?
A third party event is a fundraiser that’s organized and executed by someone outside of YACC. It can be anything from a lemonade stand to a corporate golf tournament. In fact, we have been a part of both of those activities, and many other events in between!
For example, 21 year old colon cancer survivor Robin Mkangwana held a golf tournament in August 2013 and raised over $10,000! Speaking of golf tournaments, there are two annual events held on our behalf: The TD Golf Tournament in St. John’s, NL; and the Kara Lee Golf Classic in Manitoba!
Another amazing annual event is the Darryl Gorman Memorial Walk held in Holyrood, NL in memory of Darryl Gorman, one of Geoff’s first “cancer buddies.”
And, we can’t wrap it up without mentioning Brews, Bowls, and Charity Goals, a crazy-successful lawn bowling tournament geared at young professionals and held throughout August 2015. Teams signed up for a weekly event that came with a theme, awesome food and beverages, great networking opportunities, and a lot of fun.
Other events that are starting to become part of the furniture around here are Surge for Cancer and Dunk for YACC. The former involves three-hours on MAX’s Surge circuit, while the latter is all fun at a Regatta Day dunk tank!
The list goes on and on, so click here if you’re interested in reading about other third party events we have participated in!
