The Canadian Breast Cancer Network (CBCN) is seeking diverse board members with lived breast cancer experience to join their national board of directors.
CBCN is the national link between groups and individuals concerned about breast cancer, and represents the concerns of all Canadians affected by breast cancer. CBCN is unique in that all directors have experienced a breast cancer diagnosis; by joining the board, you will help give a voice to the thousands of Canadians whose lives are impacted by breast cancer every year.
We are currently seeking to fill two director positions on our national board of directors. As a CBCN board member you will:
- Actively participate to help fulfill CBCN’s mission to ensure the best quality of life for all Canadians affected by breast cancer;
- Help identify priorities for CBCN based on the needs of patients and survivors within your community and province/territory;
- Represent CBCN within your province/territory at relevant conferences or meetings; and,
- Actively participate in monthly board teleconference calls.
Candidates with previous experience or skills in the following areas are strongly encouraged to apply: finance, corporate sponsorship, legal, and proposal writing.
CBCN values diversity on our board of directors and throughout our organization. Individuals representing diverse populations are encouraged to apply, including Canadians living with metastatic breast cancer.
As a national organization, CBCN considers geographical representation in the selection process to ensure that Canada’s geographical diversity is properly represented.
