Localife Calgary enjoys Good Earth with good people

On May 3, 2019 the Localife Calgary held a hang out at Good Earth Coffee, and it was a full-bodied, dark-roasted success. This month’s event was small, but mighty. We had five Localifers in attendance and still managed to have a nice time and some great chats.

The event started out with an icebreaker where our members were asked what they would do if they won $5 million. One of us would travel the world and take surfing lessons, others talked about gifting half the money to their families and then purchasing a nice home, while others would invest the money and live off the interest. Personally, I think everyone needs a good $5,000 shopping spree, but that’s just me.

Next we listened to the live music and heard some of Calgary’s local musicians play their tunes. We chatted about a proposal at Emerald Lake and about everyone’s summer plans.

The highlight of the event came when one of our members got up the nerve to rap “Lose Yourself” by Eminem in front of the whole room, accompanied by a guitarist named Kyle. The group was astounded by his bravery as he battled stage fright and preformed for us all. It truly was a fun-filled evening where friendships were formed and strengthened.

We thank all our members who attended this event, and hope to see the whole YACC group soon for our big axe-throwing event in the summer!
