Localife Ottawa tours the Tweed factory

On Saturday, September 21, 2019, a group of 14 YACCers met in the small town of Smith Falls to tour the Tweed factory for some education and good company.

A wonderful learning experience

Our knowledgeable Tweed factory tour guide took the time to teach our group about the history of marijuana, the current state of affairs in Canada, as well as what we can expect from Tweed in the future (something about Hummingbird chocolate came up—YUM!). It gave us a great opportunity to ask questions and engage with this very hot topic in our community.

Time spent in the best of company

All of this learning got the entire group quite hungry. After the tour of Tweed was over, we made our way to Smith Falls local bar, Matty O’Shea, where we took over, filling the place with discussions and laughter. Important connections were made over appetizers and meals.

Suffice it to say, both promises of learning and good company were kept.

Val and Gabrielle, your Localife Ottawa leaders, want to thank everyone who made this event a great start to the year: the Tweed team, the staff at Matty O’Shea, the YACC team, and our YACCers.
