In the middle of December, on a very cold and dark day, 20 survivors and supporters met to celebrate the holidays together under a cascade of bright lights in the freshly fallen snow.
Memorial University’s Botanical Gardens hosted their beautiful “Merry & Bright” light festival again this year, and we came together to walk through the wonderfully decorated paths and gardens. We were greeted at the entrance of the garden with a beautiful and bright archway lighting our way, and it only got more festive as we travelled together through the garden. We took in the lovely light displays and creative sculptures, we took a lot of pictures together, and we especially enjoyed warming up by the fire!
After the walk, we made a spontaneous trip to Montana’s to snack on some appetizers and connect.
The chilly Newfoundland winter weather helped make the walk a cold but very special one to share with one another, and it was the perfect way to start off the season together.
