Localife St. John’s: Transitions

The ’20s (as in, 2020s) have been full of transitions, and Localife St. John’s is no different.

Kaylee has been a leader with Localife St. John’s since early 2020. This means she had only three months as a new leader before COVID-19 rocked the world. For anyone living in/near St. John’s, you will remember that 2020 also started with Snowmageddon (in which the city and surrounding communities had to completely shut down for a full week due to snow).

Kaylee, and her co-leader, Stephanie, managed to keep Localife St. John’s engaged and running through the hardest two years of YACC’s life. With transitions, pivots, higher than average anxieties, and restrictions in place, these leaders continued to push forward to ensure their peers had pockets of fun throughout this ever-changing world.

We are sad to see Kaylee step down, but we know she is on to exciting things and we know she will continue to be involved in the community. Kaylee, thank you for everything you have done. Having volunteers like you, being the backbone of YACC, ensures that our YACCers have access to local programming and peer support. From the bottom of our hearts and from the top of some of those snowbanks back in 2020, we thank you.

We are also excited to announce, that our newest leader, Ashley, is all trained up and ready to go! She and Stephanie will be announcing some upcoming events soon!
