Localife Vancouver gets spooked!

On the night before Halloween, just as it became dark, a few of us met at the Blacksmith Bakery in Fort Langley to grab a hot drink to go. We made our way over to the Fort Langley Historic Site and with a great group of seven young adults affected by cancer, we were ready for a spooky evening!

We spent close to two hours wandering the streets and cemeteries of the old town with an amazing guide who told us true stories from the late 1800s and early 1900s. We were all given chills when told some pretty neat ghost stories.

We ended the tour back at the Fort where we got to explore some of the old buildings, one being the original Storehouse used for the fur trade and built in 1840!

Despite the rain (at some points, torrential downpours) we laughed and had a lot of fun! Although we didn’t get to interact too much during the walking tour, we ended the evening with some hot cocoa and some catching up while also discussing when we can all get together next!

If you’re a young adult who was diagnosed with cancer between the ages of 15-39 and currently between the ages of 18-39, email [email protected] to learn more about the next event!
