Survivor Conference Eligibility
The Conference is open to young adult cancer patients/survivors between 18- and 39-years-old who were diagnosed between 15- and 39-years-old. You can bring one supporter who is also between 18 and 39. Survivor Conference is the annual reunion of the Canadian young adult cancer community. You can come back every year as long as space permits.
Patients/survivors: Must have had a cancer diagnosis of any type or any stage between the ages of 15 and 39, and must currently be between the ages of 18 and 39.
Supporters: A friend, sibling, spouse, or partner, also aged between 18 and 39. Parents are not eligible. Boyfriends, girlfriends, and significant others are definitely welcome, and we will do our best to room you together where possible, but priority is given to making sure as many people can attend the event as possible, so you may be paired up with another participant of the same sex.
When choosing your supporter, ask yourself, “Would I be comfortable discussing every part of my cancer experience in front of them?” and “Would knowing the details of my cancer journey help them understand me better.” If the answer is yes, you and your supporter will probably get more out of the experience and enjoy the event to the fullest.
If you prefer to come on your own or if your supporter can’t make the dates, don’t let this stop you; many people come solo as well!
We’ll be staying at the Holiday Inn & Suites Parkway Conference Centre in St. Catharines.
