Hello everyone!
I am so excited to share with you a great opportunity to contribute to this year’s Survivor Conference through the YACCer Spotlight!
Your story = Power
As we did in 2018, we want to give you an opportunity to share a part of your story at the conference. Each day, at the end of breakfast, a YACCer (survivor or supporter) will get to share a part of their story for 15 minutes.
Goals
- Inspire others
- Enhance feelings of connection
- Learn ways to live life and love life
Your challenge, should you choose to accept it
For your chance at 15 minutes of fame, you need to send us a three-minute video giving an example of how cancer changed your life in a good way, a not so good way, you decide.
This three-minute video doesn’t need to be what you would say at a typical conference; we’re not necessarily looking for a “professional conference” type presentation. We just want to gauge your personality, storytelling style, and get first-hand feedback on the trials and triumphs that can come with getting cancer as a young adult.
Once selected, we will help you work on your full presentation.
Selection
A committee composed of YACC team members and YACC board members will select four people to speak at the conference.
If you are not selected for Survivor Conference, don’t worry! We might still ask you if we can share your video on our website so more people feel connected and understood.
Deadlines: You need to send us your video by Friday, April 26. We will announce our selected speakers on May 6, 2019. Please send them to [email protected]

As always, if something has come up and you no longer think you can make it to the event, please let me know as soon as possible. We do have a waitlist started, and the sooner we can confirm these individuals, the more time they will have to plan and book their travel.
