Localife
Looking to get engaged with your local young adult cancer community? We’re currently recruiting Localife leaders for the following cities:
- St. John’s, NL
- Ottawa, ON
- Toronto, ON
- Winnipeg, MB
- Saskatoon, SK
- Calgary, AB
- Edmonton, AB
- Vancouver, BC
- Victoria, BC
We are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers to help plan and deliver 10 local social events in these areas each year, as well as a National Cancer Survivors’ Day event in June — things like movie nights, pumpkin carving events, arcade nights, beach fires, etc.
Events typically take 1-5 hours to full plan, deliver and report on. There is also some ongoing admin work, but this is minimal time throughout the month.
YACC Chats
We are seeking volunteers with lived experience of a young adult cancer diagnosis to facilitate YACC Chats on Monday or Wednesday evenings (7:45 – 9:45 p.m. ET). These positions are open to people all across Canada!
- 2SLGBTQIA+ young adult diagnosed with cancer
- Young adult diagnosed with advanced or metastatic cancer
Insight
YACC’s Insight team provides personal experiences, expertise, and support in the development and delivery of YACC initiatives, especially support programs, fundraising, research, and communications.
